800 Calorie Diet

In the 1950’s when Dr Simeons’ researched the HCG hormone’s effect on the body’s excess weight he worked out the proportion of food intake with the HCG introduced in the body and concluded that a calorie intake of 500/day caused the most effective weight loss. His HCG Diet Plan was divided in 3 phases, the Loading phase, Stabilization phase & the Maintenance phase. After many years of further research & debate on the safety of such a low calorie diet lately modern researchers of the HCG Diet have found that if a dieter is on an 800 calorie diet/day then this proved to be more effective than the earlier formula. The original diet allowed only unlimited tea/coffee for breakfast with an approved sweetener & 1 tbsp of milk a day but the modern version recommends approx 300 calories of lean protein in the morning. Lunch & Dinner on the diet comprising of 1Melba toast, a portion of vegetable, 200 gms of protein (lean meat), I fruit for lunch & dinner makes up 500 calories.

The modern version recommends that this method will have more effective long term results. Studies of thousands of dieters have shown that dieters have still lost between 1-3 lbs a day when the rest of the diet is followed accurately.

Pros & Cons Of 800 Calorie HCG Diet Protocol

A very Low Calorie diet VLCD of just 800 calories/day is what the revised HCG Diet Protocol requires for a regular daily weight loss. Here is what a dieter must know

  • It is difficult to maintain this low calorie requirement & a dieter requires expert guidance on how to work out the nutritional & calorific requirement of each meal in order to stay within this limit.
  • While rapid weight loss is apparent while on the diet some dieters will put the weight back on once the cycle is done. To prevent this change in lifestyle & diet is imperative.
  • After the HCG Diet Cycle regular exercise and a modified diet where the diet includes natural organic preservative free food will in the long run help to keep the body fit & the weight down.
  • Not understanding the diet requirements or self medicating can lead to severe problems like anorexia, hair & nail issues, depression & sometimes even hypothermia. The Usual side effects of VLCD are fatigue, nausea & constipation, which disappear in a few days of the diet.
  • Weight loss with very low calorie diets can be extremely harmful if not done under expert guidance & these diets are not approved by medical sources.
  • People with excessive weight issues have been known to complain of gall stones & some even of kidney stones. This could happen due to rapid weight loss. There are toxins created due to the stored fats being converted into energy & as the gall bladder & the kidneys are not used to processing so much waste at one time they will also react adversely.
  • The Diet claims to suppress hunger & cravings as the HCG fulfills the calorie requirements by burning the fats.
